The Glitch that Stole New Years
On Monday, we attempted to send our normal post but something happened. Maybe the after-Christmas food coma struck the internet . . . or one of our team members . . . or MailChimp. Who knows and whatever.
But we didn’t want you to miss out on this post nor the offer we made to send you something. So here’s a re-print.
——
You don’t need me to tell you how few people live out their New Year’s resolutions. Okay, I’ll tell you. 25% quit the first week. 36% the first month and 54% before six months are up. And that doesn’t account for those too honest to respond to the survey.
A few years back, Andy Stanley took another approach. Instead of resolving to do something or to stop doing something, he suggests we think about who we want to be. He describes a process where he wrote an obituary for himself, including quotes from his wife, kids, associates and friends. “What would I like people to say about me at my funeral?” he asks. Working from those quotes, he figured out what kind of person he’d have to be in order to have people say those great things. His talk is great. He lays it out in such a simple yet powerful way.
So . . . we’d like you to start the new year by taking this challenge personally. We’d like to send you the CD of Andy’s talk along with a handout to guide you through the exercise. We’d also like to offer you the ‘once in a blue moon’ opportunity to donate to Radical Mentoring. We’ve got plans to be more helpful to mentors, disciples and ministers in 2015 and we could use some money to grow with.
So here’s the deal. If you’d like to support what we’re doing, click one of the options below.
But if you’d just like the CD and handout, send your ‘snail mail’ address to info@radicalmentoring.com and we’ll send the package out to you right away (and free of charge, while supplies last).
Happy New Year!
