Going ‘All In’
Towards the end of my last Radical Mentoring group, I put a copy of this in front of every guy and asked them to consider signing it. Take a look….
Stiff huh?
Guys reacted in different ways. Big pause . . . a couple of guys pulled back. One was defensive. “How dare you . . . this is one of those manipulative ‘trick’ things!” A couple signed it and handed it back directly, with resolution and conviction.
“Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and, if true, of infinite importance. The one thing it cannot be is moderately important.” –C.S. Lewis

I would sign it in a heart beat.
It is pretty stiff, but it is what we are called to do. The Disciples left everything they had to follow Jesus. Jesus’ own words call us to deny our self and take up our cross daily. We should be growing to the place where all of our lives are all about Jesus. – I am nothing; He is everything!
I am brought to reflect on the heart and challenges of some young pastors in books such as “Radical”, “Crazy Love”, “Follow Me” and “Not a Fan”.
Question. Are we REALY Following Christ? Am I a true “Christ Follower” or just a “Church goer — a Cultural Christian. ”
Perhaps those to be received by Christ with “well done my good and faithful servant” as compared to those who will be rejected “away from me, I never knew you”
Seems we begin our walk giving some of these to God, perhaps just one or two, and over time, If we grow and as we are sanctified, we give up more and more. Some we may try to take back.
Mentors role seems to be helping guys give up more and more, realizing God does them all better anyway.
