Getting More Specific
When I first started writing and sending these posts 3 years ago, the goal was to continue to ‘mentor’ the men who’d sat around my dining room table. Plus, we wanted to draw more laymen and ministers into the ‘mentor’ fold. We’ve offered up almost 350 posts, over 1200 men have registered as mentors, and we’ve gotten great feedback along the way. The number of folks subscribing has tripled this year and we want to do even better in the future.
To make that happen, we want to share stuff that focuses on getting more specific to where you are in life. Some of you aren’t ready to mentor right now . . . you’re just trying to hang onto God, your job and your marriage. A lot of pastors and ministry people read what we post. And then there are those mentors and mentees who know firsthand what Radical Mentoring is all about.
We plan to continue what we’ve been doing and try to do it even better, but beginning early next year, we’d like to send you an occasional post that’s more targeted to where you are in your journey. We’ve come up with three “buckets” and we’d like you to select the one that best describes you right now.
Before you choose, let me say a big ‘thank you’ for reading these posts and for all the kind words you’ve shared about them. I’m not a theologian nor counselor nor pastor. I’m just a man who (finally) figured out that God loves him extravagantly in his humanity. I believe God has an amazing life for each of us when we go ‘all in’ with Him.
“Happy are those who fear the Lord. Yes, happy are those who delight in doing what he commands.” (Psalm 112:1)
I’m convinced that obeying His command to “go make disciples” (Matthew 28:19) is the ‘secret sauce’ to happiness. Few things in my life come close to the joy I receive watching young men come into intimate relationship with Father. When you’re ready, I’d like you to join me in that quest.
So . . . Merry Christmas! I love you guys.
